  • For me, the clear turning point of the OU game

...occurred after a barrage of horrible BYU mistakes and kept OU from going up 14-0 in the first quarter.

I'm talking about Andrew Rich, helmet on ball, fumble near the end zone as Oklahoma was driving again and looked like they would shortly go up two scores. This of course followed McKay's fumble, the FG nullification, and then a Max Hall INT. Honestly if OU scores there, I'm not sure we keep up, and momentum swings big time.

of course in a game that close, many such critical junctures could be hlghlighted. But after watching the game a couple more times I really feel that is one of those plays that ended up being crucial as far as it impacted the direction of the rest of the game.

Incidentally, I watched the replay of the FG/delay of game several times, and I really think it was close. Oh well, there were a couple calls against OU's line where I didn't see any movement either.

Andrew Rich's nipple hardening play makes this defense better. However, my favorite individual play of the game defensively was Jan's tackle for a loss on 1st and goal from the 2 after that deflating PI call in the endzone on Brian Logan. BYU had just put together a gutsy goal line stand and then a poor call gave OU a second chance. Then Jan makes his play of the game and shows his teamates that "yes we can!" JJ is a Rockstar baby, JJ for President!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Pendelton had two pretty amazing plays on the goal-line as well. I think one was before the PI, and one after.

It reminds me a little of the big David Nixon hit against TCU a few years ago that forced the QB to fumble the ball.
