Went to the game, stayed with my nephew & his wife & daughter in Austin. 1) Drove up to DFW on Saturday morning. Stopped in a little town called "West" to get gas and buy a dozen kolaches (Czech pastries filled with either meat or fruit) at a famous (inside Texas anyway) convenience store/restaurant there.

Dressed in BYU gear, we had a group of UT fans chip in to buy us our kolaches. We just had to promise that BYU would do their best to beat "those damned Sooners"
2) Driving back down to Austin after the game, my nephew was driving a bit to fast on I-35. He got pulled over just outside of Waco going 80 in a 65. The cop saw that we were dressed in BYU gear, and asked if we'd been to the game. Took drivers license and registration to check info on the computer, and came back wearing a Longhorns cap. He got a warning and a "Hook'em Horns" as his punishment.
3) On sunday evening my nephew dropped me off at the airport in Austin. One of the HSA guys saw my BYU hat and asked if I had been out for the game. After I had cleared security, we chatted as I put my shoes back on and repacked my carry-on. He told me that he was just going on break and asked if he could buy me a drink. He was kind of embarrassed when I told him I was Mormon and didn't drink: "sorry, I forgot about that." I went into a magazine store to get a sudoku book, and as I left it, the guy came up with a bottle of water and a couple packages of skittles, explaining that he knew I didn't drink coke or eat chocolate either...
Pretty cool all around. UT fans really love it when OK loses. And southern hospitality trumps normal behavior when football is the driving influence (and they have no other reason to hate you)...
As to the OU fans - they were mostly on their best behavior. We walked through a parking lot near a group of busses with a couple hundred depressed OU fans standing about, and ran into a group of them weren't so friendly. They were pretty quickly quieted down by the rest of them...
