  • Has BYU ever played a better defensive game?

Hyperbole aside, I have never seen BYU play better against a legit team. That was impressive, and honestly a taste of the defense I think we all dreamed of when Brono was hired and hyped as DC.

    Better, yes.

    Bigger, no.

      1985 Citrus Bowl

      Ohio State 10 BYU 7

BYU had 6 turnovers and the only TD Ohio State had was an INT return.

Well the D versus UCLA last year was unreal. However, the D has never played better against an offense of this caliber. They took out the Heisman trophy winner and neutralized two 1,000 yard rushers. If our offense didn't give up the short field, our D could have possibly shut them out tonight. That is unfathomable.

When you're talking in absolutes, I have a hard time making a vote one way or another. Is this the best defensive game they've played under Bronco? I would say yes. Best defensive game ever? Not sure, though I can't think of those that would be better. Maybe Miami, but I'm not even sure that would be either.

Agreed. If Chambers hangs onto the football, it's a very different ball game. The D play was....inspired??? (tic)

Best I've seen a defense play since probably the '96 team. I couldn't believe how good those guys were tonight.

They held the #3 team in the country on 6 consecutive plays inside the 5. That alone earns them the MVP and makes it one of their best-ever performances.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

And it was the team that scored a FBS record number of points last year, both total points and average per game.
