    There are four ranked vs. ranked games this week, give your picks

    16 Oregon @ 14 Boise State
    13 Georgia @ 9 Oklahoma State
    3 Oklahoma vs. 20 BYU
    5 Alabama vs. 7 Virginia Tech

    Mine:

        Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

                  Those of you picking Bama over VT, don't be fooled by their #5 ranking. That comes from the SEC glaze that hovers over the media's eyes. In reality Bama returns only 5 offensive starters, plus the NCAA is suspending Julio Jones and Mark Ingram for the first game, Brandon Deaderick was shot on Monday.... and Frank Beamer is a helluva big game coach.

                        Bama returned 9 starters on defense, and will probably be able to do more on offense with McElroy compared with JP Wilson.

                        Also, Julio and Ingram will play this week, and the guy they have backing up Deaderick would start for most teams. he had a fantastic camp.

                        VaTech is playing three freshman at running back, and their QB has yet to prove himself as a passer.
