I'm a crappy fan 'cause I can't get excited about Vegas four years in a row. I think I'm going to keep my Fiesta Bowl tickets and go watch Texas-Ohio State instead.

Alas, the size of my wife's tummy (it's "overflowing," to quote my son) will be an effective bar on the Vegas Bowl for me.

I was supposed to meet up with Bernard and CJF for a meal, but I ditched those suckas and went over to the Liberace museum instead.

If there is a get together this time, I would be down.

I recommend the reasonably-priced hot dogs at Slots-a-Fun and the lunch buffet at Tam-o-Shanter or O'Shea's. I also enjoy breakfast at the Peppermill.

When are people flying in and out? I was just going to rent a car. I can usually get cheap rooms at the Marriot properties as well but the rooms on the strip are quite the bargain this year so I thought I'd stay there.

The smokies were some sort of tiny sausage.

Recurring theme? I've only been to the Liberace museum once or twice!

Currently, I may need a R/T ride from Utah to Vegas and back; a one way from Vegas to Utah; or neither.

I will know more by early next week.

wow, seriously? that is pretty cheap and PH is a nice hotel except for the PF Changs.

There are some crazy hotel deals online right now...$40 at the Stratosphere.

I also saw a deluxe King suite at the Venetian....$103.

Yes, I am going with a cheap brother and he was whining about how we shouldn't just make a reservation somewhere that I hadn't even checked Priceline. So I put in that I would pay $50 a night for a 4 star on the strip, it came back and said the lowest price being accepted for a 4 star was $55. I heard that is where the team is playing, I hope to get on a craps table with Max and Austin!

BYU is staying at ph. They were there last year, as well. If you want to eat at PF Changs, go early because half of the LDS contingency will be in there eating lettuce wraps and other "chinese food."

The crazy thing about ph....after the game last year, we went back to drop off my fil. we went inside to main casino area. At about 11PM, all these stripper-type pole dancers came out and were dancing on platforms above the casino. It was pretty sweet checking out pole dancers but being shielded by the power of my BYU gear.

This year you should stake out the BYU team bus and hold up a sign that says "Max Hall is Still Passing"

I have heard that BoylenOver is going so maybe I will make him a sign that says "Kruger's still open" to hold at the game.

I may not be a food elitist as some are, but I would not eat at PF Changs again. I spent an hour waiting 6 months after it opened here in Eugene and asked my wife if this was really what people were waiting in line for.

Given that hotels in Vegas are going for about $40 a pop, why stay in mesquite? Is it even cheaper there?

It is too bad BYU plays ASU in the afternoon because the UNLV/Arizona game at the T&M would be interesting.

The only reason we are staing in Mesquite is because we have tee times on Friday afternoon at the Casablanca and Saturday Morning at Falcon Ridge.

Last year I stayed at the Monte Carlo, and I talked the lady in to upgrading my wife and I in to a free suite. It was nice not having to share a bed.
