  • Sweet! Doman has me feeling better about Max

So I've been sort of vocal here and on CB about what I see as Max's shortcomings as a QB.

So this morning when Brandon Doman was interviewed on the radio, I was heartened when he said that Max has developed more in the last 6 months than he had in all of the rest of his career at BYU. Doman didn't give details of his development, but c'mon, what does Hall need improving on? He's always had the 3 Cs: Courage, Competitiveness and Confidence. He's got most of the physical gifts required. I think he's needed to learn that he can't get it done with just an elite few on the team--he needs everyone to be higher level. And Doman specifically said that Max heavily involved himself in studying film and strategy meetings involving the entire team. I think his quote was "Max has involved every single player on the offense in meetings and workouts this summer."

    Whoo hoo.

He also said Riley was ahead of Covey. (Hall, Gas, Ril) Are they planning on moving Covey to another position?

He couldnt talk about the kid from WA, but he did say that BYUs QB pipeline (with Munns and Lark too) was in pretty good shape for years to come.

Doman was talking up Max last summer as well. So it could be coachspeak, but BYU has a pretty good history with senior qbs. I will be surprised if BYU loses more than one MWC game if Max Hall stays healthy all year.

Covey has been moved to receiver. I think he is going to be a back up slot receiver behind your and my favoroite Southlake Carrol Dragon, the only living descendent of a Scando Pioneer with a lil shake and bake.....yea the great McKayJake!
