    My main concern

    My main concern is that CG took a long time to build up the BYU sports discussion to be a valid one stop shop. For a long time, most talked BYU sports at CB and religion/politics at CG. Over time, CG's BYU sports discussion areas became a solid area.

    BYU sports discussion is my only reason to be here. The religion and other topics are interesting, but they're not why I come to a BYU message board. I enjoy the associations and personalities, but that's also a secondary reason.

    Giving Utes equal footing on the board totally changes everything, as it relates to BYU sports discussion, IMHO. The thing that makes a BYU sports message board is that BYU fans come to discuss BYU and Ute fans come to piss and moan about BYU. That's what made the Ute fans tolerable at CG.

    I grieve a little for the divisiveness and the bad feelings. But frankly I don't really give a crap. I'll post where there's good BYU sports discussion.

    BYU sports discussion needs to be the main focus of the board, in the definition, the name, the marketing, the positioning, everything. If that happens, the community will survive and grow in other areas.

          This is a legitimate concern. But I think if you give it a short time you'll see that if the people who have already registered continue to support this board through participation that the sports boards will take off. There are posters here with intimate knowledge of both programs.

            Not sure what the concern is....the exact same people that were participating in sports threads over there and now here. In fact, for the most part, the exact same people over all that were there are now here.

            The only real concern is whether SU can be coaxed into rapping G-town basketball over here. If not, then that would be a terrible casualty.

              With respect Jay, there are a zillion places you can talk about BYU sports. As SU said a couple of times, if we were breaking up CG and selling its assets the religion forum would represent 90% of the value. It was never a BYU sports board primarily. I don't anticipate that CUF will be either.

              If people want there to be a good sports forum here then great. I don't personally care. I get all the Ute talk I need from DrumNFeather or at least I have little choice because since Utefans got littered with idiots there hasn't been anywhere I have cared to talk Ute sports, other than on CG periodically.
