  • Faith to move mtn.s

I come home from Church today to throw the ribs into the oven. We are using the cowboy/lebowski method for dinner tonight.

My FIL is staying with us this weekend and when I run home during Sunday School, he is sitting in our living room watching a Wyoming/TCU basketball game on TV.

We chit chat for a second while I am getting the ribs into the oven, and then it dawns on me that he is watching a Wyoming/TCU game on TV. The following brief conversation ensues:

Me: Hey, what channel are you watching?
Him: The Mtn. (although he didn't abbreviate the pronunciation).
Me: I don't get The Mtn. I have Cox Cable OC, not Cox Cable SD.
Him: Well, you also have the The Mtn.
Me: Let me see the remote

    *brings up channel guide*

Shocker! Sure enough, there is The Mtn.

I hop online and find the press release announcing the expanded coverage starting yesterday, Aug 1.

So this is great...I don't have to switch to DirecTV, I don't have to switch DVRs, I don't have to pay anything extra.

I now have The Mtn. Sweet!

ps Has the quality always been so crappy?

The chorus sounds a resounding "YES"
"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."

"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

Maybe there's hope for DISH subscribers.

Why? Was that a great game or something? Both those teams sucked I thought. I could understand watching a football game between anyone this time of year, but WYO/TCU hoops? Unless he was hoping to catch a glimpse of landpoke in the crowd this makes no sense.

He is a sports fanatic. That is mostly all he watches on TV.

The Utah/Alabama game was being replayed on tv this afternoon. I finally had to tell him to turn it off so the kids could watch a movie.

I wouldn't know, but hopefully. Although the Cox deal is really an expansion of an agreement that was already in place. Cox SD had the Mtn last year. I would guess that it is much easier to expand the deal with Cox than to enter into an entirely new one with Dish. But one can always hope.

I am just stoked because it was a total surprise. I didn't have to do anything or pay one extra penny for it.

Maybe I missed it but I don't remember any of us talking about this expansion on CUF. I guess it went under the radar. The expansion also includes the CBS sports channel, which is cool.

You just don't like to be reminded about when you're wrong about something.
