    That's quite a drop from the Fiesta to the Sugar Bowl. I'm guessing that had a BCS team played rather than Utah, the numbers would have been higher, which would tell me that my belief that the BCS is about tv revenue and not football would be correct.

      And the Las Vegas bowl was the 4th highest rated bowl with a MWC team. Even the NM bowl beat the Vegas bowl. Wow.

        Oh I don't know, the Sug's 7.8 is higher than three of last year's BCS ratings:

        17.4 BCS Championship LSU-Ohio St.
        11.1 Rose Southern Cal-Illinois
        7.7 Fiesta W. Virginia-Oklahoma
        7.4 Orange Kansas-Va. Tech
        7.0 Sugar Georgia-Hawaii

        Texas has a large following.

          Perhaps the Nielsen boxes turned on after the first quarter and folks saw that three touchdown lead by Utah and decided the game was essentially over?
