  • How solid is BYU's DL going to be this year?

When the DL is solid, the LBs can fly around, cover people, and blitz when appropriate. When it's not, DLs can end up being 2nd rate DLs that are just further from the LOS.

Those of you in the know need to tell the rest of us scabs how the DL is looking to shape up.

I am reminded of the 2001 DL which had Keisel and Denney on the outside, but nothing on the inside.

Hard to say. The DE's are both very good.

The DT's are the biggest question mark and mystery going into the season.

I'm not that optimistic and hope I'm proven wrong on the DT's and someone unheralded or unexpected to step up big.

I agree with Balboa. The things is, even at DE, we are really only tough 1-deep - maybe 1 1/2. We are an injury away from playing names we haven't heard of before, which is not good. We will have to see who steps on at the DT spot - hopefully we'll be pleasantly surprised by one of the freshmen: Mulitalo or Reynolds.

I remember some long runs up the middle that year, but also quite a few sacks and INTs.

BYU was 95th in rushing yards allowed per game and 107th (out of 115) teams in yards allowed per carry.

Yuck. That's not good. No doubt this was a result of Lavell's recruiting at the end.
