Has the BCS helped or hurt the MWC and WAC?

The map is interesting, Oklahoma and SEC country think it has helped as do Maine and New Hampshire for some reason.

I hope this isn't a push poll, I know how controversial those were after the SUGAR BOWL GAME.

Well there is no way those upstarts with a blue field could have beat OU otherwise! It's all about the BCS and how it has helped the WAC!

It's not that. OU fans are going to feel like the fact that the BCS set up the highly-publicized goliath-slaying has greatly helped Boise's image and by extension the WAC.

I'll probably get a lot of flack, but

I think the BCS (under the new rules) has actually helped the conference. Without it no way Utah gets to the Fiesta and Sugar. No way do BSU and Hawaii get bids. It has also provide additional cash to those conferences.

It is by no means fair, and I think the BSU and TCU have legitimate antitrust complaints from last year, but overall a positive.

I'm wondering why West Virginia went purple (or whatever color that is).

The BCS tried to make it practically impossible in '04 (rather than impossible) for a non-BCS team to get in, but Utah did it anyway. When BSU got in, it was much easier for a non-BCS team to qualify.

The BCS still and will always put the interests of it's 6 conferences before anything else. It still sucks and always will suck.

And as far as extra money to the non-BCS conferences, that really isn't true because while the dollar amount may be larger, it has to be divided amongst all non-BCS schools. In '04, the Fiesta Bowl payout was only split between the MWC teams.

The BCS has made coverage of the non-BCS teams practically nothing. See how the WAC has to play on Tuesday nights and the MWC has to play on a pretend network just to get games on the air?
