It seems like byu hasn't developed the snow pipeline all that well. It also seems like bronco isn't big on juco guys. The u always seems to reload with these guys. Back in the day you could count on lavell to take 1 or 2 guys from ricks every year. Should bronco go after more juco guys?

JC guys can be a very good quick fix when developing freshmen.

2 starters on our defense this year are direct from Snow. We also have a Backup DT from Snow.

Define what you mean when you say "Bronco isn't big on Juco guys?" How many Juco guys should a team sign every season?

Have you counted how many JUCO guys BYU has signed over the past 4-5 classes?

The utes have made a living off of guys like asiata and reed at skill positions, and they kept their secondary deep by always signing jc guys. I wish byu would. They seem to be a recruiting afterthought for bronco

Rich was a walkon, so clawson and hola are 2, but I don't think bronco has proven to use jcuos well

Then you aren't paying attention this year because Bronco has gone hard and heavy after JC recruits very early on.

Didn't Bronco sign a couple of legit JUCO d-backs for this year?

Rick's was our farm team. It hurt to lose them.

The loss of Ricks was huge. It was a place to send nonquals, a place to get a marginal kid a scholarship to see how he would develop(versus now giving him a "preferred walk-on"), plus a place to get some kids used to the honor code without the up close scruitiny. I rarely see anyone comment on how bad it hurts you recruiting overall(thinking more of the bottom half of the classes)

byu got a linebacker, jordan atkinson (bryant's cousin) lee agguire, a corner hawaii also wanted who is supposed to be pretty good, and brian logan another corner who was headed to sdsu before a coaching change meant he didn't have an offer, he picked us over usu. Byu also got a late signee, corby eason he is supposed to be solid.

I'm pleased they got 3 juco corners, but under bronco byu usually signs 3 jc guy while utah sign 6 to 8 under whit. I think byu needs more. 17 or 18 commits so far and not one juco?

For startesr, they just signed a CB named Eason from NY and are going after a couple of guys at Blinn JC. There's more than that, but I don't remember it off the top of my head.

JC recruits have been a very mixed bag for BYU in recent years, so I'm not sure a lack of signing JC guys is by definition a bad thing.

BYU has a bigger recruiting core than Utah. It appears to me that Bronco went hard after JC players at the position BYU's natural recruiting base struggles to consistently provide adequate talent - cb. BYU shouldn't have to rely upon JC transfers for the majority of positions on the field.

You don't get commits for JC kids in June. Patience.

When you say a mixed bag, what you really meant to say is not many of the pan out. Or am I mistaken? That's what I would have said.
