Jimmer is a really good player. Not an exceptional athlete, but a really good basketball player.

You're comparing a very promising young player with one of the worst guards who has ever played significant minutes at BYU. Maybe ever in D-1 basketball.

You evidently have seen very little BYU basketball let alone college basketball at large. Murdock wasn't very good, but you have grossly overstated things here.

              Jimmer has much bigger feet.

Might explain why he isn't serving a mission. You know what they say, high bar and big feet makes a mission difficult to complete......or something like that.

Oh I've had this discussion with Indy - I think deep down, he knows he's up in the night on this issue. At this point he just wants to take shots for the sake of taking shots.

In order for you to accept SMR's contention about Murdock, you would have to reconcile the decision of Rose to start him over Fredette, Rose or anyone else while at the same time recognize that same coach got BYU to two consecutive MWC conference titles and 25 wins last year.

So was Rose a complete moron to start the worst guard in BYU history and perhaps the history of D-1 basketball, or did he simply start an unspectacular player who did just enough right things to help the team to 25 wins?

If I were Fredette or Rose or Morgan and I was reading this thread, I'd feel pretty crappy about myself right about now.

No. Indy's right. It was absurd piece of hyperbole on your part.

So because he has coached a few successful teams, every personnel decision Rose has ever made is correct? That's a good one.

The stats speak for themselves. Murdock sucked big time last season. We're better off without him.

Do you believe he is perhaps one of the worst guards ever to play D-1 ball? That's the main question here.

I believe I already stated he wasn't a very good player, but SMR has resorted to some serious hyperbole, so I don't have to claim Murdock was a good player to dispute his claims.

I think Murdock is overall better than Lamont Morgan. Morgan is a better role player when BYU plays smaller but very quick opposing pgs because Lamont can defend that skill set better.

I think why BYU is better off is because Jimmer now has enough experience that his better ability can shine through. It has everything to do with Jimmer and nothing to do with Murdock.
