  • Notre Dame a BCS Lock

From one of the BCS directors:

"They have four games left. Anything can happen, but they're looking so strong. Even if they only win two of those, certainly if they win three or four, they will be in a BCS game."

    I hate Notre Dame.

As long as an entity with a profit motive is choosing the teams, this will always happen. They need to move it to an NCAA selection committee with no bowl input, and no assholes in colored sports jackets flying around the country observing teams.

      It's good to be king!

But hey, don't hate us Irish fans too much. ND has actually beat some decent teams this year, like BYU, and some teams that are admittedly kind of sucky but that were thought to be good when the Irish scheduled them, like Oklahoma.
I think, perhaps, the only person who hates BYU fans more than ute fans hate BYU fans, is Bronco Mendenhall.

I don't hate the fans. Most of them aren't like you.

Good thing, too, since it's probably not in the Irish best interest to advertise their only top-ten win as against a "kinda sucky" team.

Agreed; however I don't think they will go undefeated. I also think they will get a BCS bowl which is fine by me during a year in which most BCS eligible teams will have at least 2 losses.

Of course, but I can't imagine any other team where a BCS exec would go on the record in October and say "yeah, they'll be invited even with two losses."

The game did all the advertising needed, unfortunately.

Watching this Notre Dame game kind of hurts. Seeing Pitt waltz in to South Bend and do something that we could have done if we had a decent QB.

Whoever thinks that Notre Dame is a BCS team really isn't watching college football. They're a good team, but they're not as good as everyone wants them to be.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Good. Anything for him to shut his mouth about ND.

The BCS is 2/3'rds real people. Real people can see that ND is 2nd tier to Oregon and Alabama.

LOL. You all can cry all you want, but it is obvious that The Lord wants a Mormon-led ND in the BSC championship this year. Touchdown Jesus is watching over all.
                              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
