  • Go Fork Yourself, Sparky: Utes vs. The Sun Devils

Page turned. On to what I think is the pivotal game on the Utes schedule. A win here sets us up for being competitive in the South, a loss, and the questions will linger, esp with USC and UCLA to follow.

ASU put a beatdown on Utah last year in Jon Hayes first game as a starter. The Devils are returning the fewest starters of any team in the Pac-12. Their WR corp, secondary, and special teams have as many questions as Utah's OLine. They have some talent at QB and are running a 2 qb system. They are using the same offense that Graham ran at Pitt last season. Utah dominated that game on the defensive end, but this year will be a tougher challenge given the athleticism on the ASU squad.

"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."

"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

            LAST WEEK
Utah beat No. 25 BYU 24-21 in a wild finish that saw the Cougars get three tries to tie the game after it appeared the game clock had expired. Utah entered the fourth quarter up 24-7 after scoring 17 points in the third quarter on a 48-yard field goal by*Coleman Petersen, a 47-yard fumble return by*Moe Lee*and a 39-yard touchdown pass between*Jon Hays*and*Dres Anderson. But the Cougars clawed back to within three (24-21). After punting the ball away with a 1:11 in regulation, Utah appeared to win the game when BYU’s pass fell incomplete and the game clock expired. But the officials put a 0:01 back on the clock and BYU attempted a 51-yard field goal, which was blocked by*Star Lotulelei. As fans poured on the field, officials called a foul, saying the ball was still live. The Utes were penalized 15 yards for the fan rush and BYU lined up for a 36-yard field goal. The kick hit the left upright and Utah finally escaped with a win.

That is the first I've heard about JW4 and Rowe being "expected to play." Hope it's true.

Why are there two threads for this game? Get your crap together, Utes!
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

                  It's how we roll.

We rushed out and create another thread before the first one was completely finished.

I'm sure a third thread will appear after a long discussion about the second thread has taken place.
