  • Brian Johnson wins MWC Offensive player of the year.....

I guess 12-0 means more than I thought.

Whittingham won the Coach of the year.

I will continue updating as they announce more.

I don't know that he's that good of a QB, but I don't have a problem with that. He won 12 and lost zero, leading last minute drives on 3(?) occasions. A pretty good year.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Well my only problem with it is that BJ is not even the best qb in the conference. Let alone the best offensive player. Austin Colllie had sick numbers this year, numbers that wont be touched by a receiver in this conference for a long time.

But like I said 12-0 does speak for itself.

Will I get a good laugh if I venture over to Jefe's board to see the reaction?

Junkie, I think this means Brian was the best quarterback and Whit the best coach in the conference this year. Is there more to it than that? What am I missing?
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

No it means BJ was the best offensive player which in reality he wasnt but he did have the best team.

                  A few others:

Defensive Player of the year: Jerry Hughes
                  1st team offense:

                  BJ
                  Collie
                  Wolfe
                  Gartrell Johnson
                  Devin Moore
                  Pitta
                  Feinga
                  D. Reynolds
                  Black Schlueter
                  Zand Beadles
                  Robert Conley
                  Sakoda
                  Kerley

                  1st team defense:
                  Paulson
                  Jorgensen
                  Kruger
                  Hughes
                  Henson
                  Phillips
                  Dobbs
                  Quin
                  McCain
                  Hodge
                  S. Smith
                  Sakoda

TCU cleaned house on the D, and Utefans even you cant argue that Mccain on the first team is a joke.

I can't believe that McCain is 1st team. He was the weak link in the Utes secondary. I would have named Robert Johnson before McCain, and Johnson is not 1st team material.

I think the MWC corners are that bad. Also with TCU being so stacked on D, they had to pay tribute to Utahs great D somewhere.

                          Could be.

It's just a surprise that it happened, but as a Ute fan, I'll take it and run, ya know?

Whittingham as COY is right. My critique of him has always been that he allows his team to melt down for one game they should win. Not this year.

BJ as OPOY is a joke, though. That's not to say he isn't good - it's just to say that it's more of a team recognition award than a OPOY award.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.
