  • The Pussies...also known as the NCAA

Yet again the NCAA proves it has no backbone whatsoever.

So they take away what looks to be around 21 wins from Alabama through the 05-07 seasons.....big....freaking....whoop.

I have a big problem with this.

For a program that has been on probation that many times....and all they get are wins taken away?

Hit em' where it hurts....take away scholarships and give them post-season bans.

Guaranteed Nick Saban is breathing easier tonight knowing that they'll take away wins that were only part of one season he coached there. He gets to keep his 85 scholies and still retains his chance to play in a Big PayDay post-season bowl game.

The NCAA yet again prove what a collection of pussies they are.

The NCAA has shown a lack of fortitude going after big-time offenders...but the actions of the Alabama football team, in this instance, didn't warrant the punishment you suggested.

No one from the coaching staff or football office was involved in this particular scandal. The five players that were involved were suspended four games during the 2007 season, and any victories they participated in were vacated. The vacated wins are meaningless, because everyone remembers who won those games, but I guess they figure it upset the Noles, so it will upset the Tide.

This does, however, put them on three years of probation, and more importantly any further offense, even if it happens beyond the probationary period, will be considered a repeat offense.

So based on what I know, the punishment fit the offense, and they'll have to run a squeaky-clean program, which it seems Saban has done up to this point in East Lansing, Baton Rouge, and Tuscaloosa.

For a program that's been a repeat offender I'm going to strongly disagree and that any infraction, no matter how slight, is grounds for automatic revocation of scholarships and immediate post-season bans.

They've been there time and again and yet they STILL haven't learned. There should be a no tolerance policy for them considering their history of being on probation over and over again.

Jim Rome said it best this morning:

Is the NCAA going to put white out all over the internet? Are the former Tide players forbidden from telling their families about the time they beat Florida by 28l? Are the fans no longer allowed to remember the great time they had at the Cotton Bowl watching 'Bama beat Texas Tech? Does this allow Ole Miss fan to say "we didn't lose to Alabama once between '05 and '07"? You can try and tell people that those games didn't happen, but nobody will listen.

This penalty is like making the star player sit out the opening drive. Ooh no not that.
