These are two versatile, fast players out of the Lonestar state, where Scalley is cleaning up.

Blane Taylor helped with at least one of these guys too I think. The staff is quietly putting together a good class for 2010 already.

I think Joe Krugar will be interesting to watch and see if he changes his mind.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I go and workout at a gym in Orem during lunch. I have been seeing Joe Kruger there often lately. Every day I see him, he is wearing Utah Football stuff if that means anything.

I also think based on his body type he will be an Offensive Tackle. He is tall with long arms and would probably make a really good one.

That can only be good, although it's probably just free stuff his brothers are getting from the equipment room.

Joe's athletic enough, I'm betting he'd be a starter as a RS soph whether he's on offense or defense.

What's the story on Kruger? He's already committed to Utah right?

Yes...it's considered a "soft verbal" at this point.

His father called UCLA and sent them film and the coaches came out to visit with him recently.

BYU is also recruiting him, but realizes he is Utah's to lose.

Yeah, great gets by Utah. Way to go Utes!
                  Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

This is important, but consider the issue of speed. Can these recruits, unlike certain LBs currently in the program, outrun pursuing, doughnut-stuffed cops? What good is toughness if one can't keep up with, much less outrun, the opposition?

Did the cops catch him or did he simply stop running?

Per the SL Trib article, "Neal ran from police but was quickly stopped and apprehended by pursuing officers." As long as he beat them for the first 100 yards, you'll be fine.

FYI, I saw him again today and he was sporting both a Utah football shirt and shorts.

That would be seriously awesome if the Utes sign that kid. "Joseph Smith scores on Brigham Young!"
