  • If you can't beat em'

    then don't try and compete.

This is a weird approach. On one hand you are involving players so that is cool. On the other you are saying, I like to lose as long as we are having fun. This is truly not a big deal, but could bring some fun discussion. Or not.

Leave it to Bronco to change something that has been in place for 20+ years. Lavell always stacked his teams, Urban stacked his team during the 1 year he played in it, its been tradition for the coach to team up with local pros, but for some reason Bronco has to beat to the sound of a different drum.

By the way Max Hall is no joke at golf. But -10 is pretty average in a 4 man scramble.

I like it for the simple fact that Bronco is the single greatest troll in the history of the rivalry.

Anything that he does or that comes out of his mouth gets Yewt "fans" into a rabid froth like no one else.

      So I'm okay with it.

I was about to defend Bronco on this one, but I can't hide what I really think about him.

Bronco's a pussy. Plain and simple. This is not surprising in the least.

I don't have a problem with it. Golf should be fun. If the way to achieve that is to play with people you have common interests with, go for it. I don't see a reason to carry on the tradition of stacking the teams.

If he is truly trolling he is the Banjo lure of all trolling. The guy never lets go of the shtick.

That's the beauty of it.....he doesn't even have to try.

The fact he is so serious in most things and doesn't give a shit what other people think just adds to the effect.

For example...it took something this irrelevant to get even one of our fans up in a lather calling him a pussy, just imagine what it'll have Yewt "Fans" saying.

              Easy bait.

You don't have to be in a lather to observe that Bronco is a pussy. Unfortunately, it's self-evident. I have low expectations for his teams and fear that for the next several years he will dutifully serve as Kyle's ever willing bitch. And that makes me sick.

Serious question. If you want to win games (I'm not talking about molding minds or spirits), who would you rather have guiding your team right now, Bronco or Kyle?

I didn't even know they did this. What kind of competition is this? Why don't the 2 head coaches play each other man to man to see who shoots the lower score?

Are people really worked up over this? It's a fun little golf benefit. If you ask me, it's sort of tool-ish to stack the team to win it. Just grab some buddies and play.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I agree Bronco takes his righteous schtick to the extreme, but I have a hard time thinking of another coach that would be able to work within the unique and multiple restrictions that a BYU Head Coach has placed upon him and consistently turn out a winner.

Kyle is a great coach, but he would not be a better fit for BYU than Bronco.

If BYU beats Utah this year, it'll be 3 out of 4 years.
