  • Obamas and Tom Hanks get three Pinocchios

Washington Post: ‘The Road We’ve Traveled:’ A misleading account of Obama’s mother and her insurance dispute

. . . . the filmmakers must have known they had a problem with this story or else they would have recounted it as Obama had done in the 2008 campaign, using phrases such as “pre-existing conditions,” “health insurance,” and “treatment.”

Instead, they arranged the quotes and images to leave a misleading impression of what really happened.
What a bunch of liars, Hanks included.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Interesting, but I am going to withhold judgment until IPU weighs in.

OK, so Obama lied a little but we now have "deficit neutral" Obamacare that will insure many more less people, and a lot of us get to keep our find a new doctor under our employer's awesome shitty new insurance plan. See... it's all good f'ed up.

A fair point, but this particular thread is about the lies in Obamao's propaganda film.

My respect for Tom Hanks gets lower with every passing year, it seems.

First his lame comments about Mormons, now this kind of overly apologetic fluff for his demi-god.

It is a left brain right brain thing. I can't remember which is dominant for "creative" and "the arts" types.

However they think in the abstract, theory and what should be. They are disconnected from logic and reality.

Hanks hit his peak with Joe vs. the Volcano. After that it was all downhill with him finally bottoming out when he played Robert Langdon.

Yikes, four, count 'em, four Pinocchios for the whole "bridges are falling down because Repubs don't care" storyline:

Obama’s whopper about an Ohio River bridge

                            Even more yikes.

Obama has been a regular on the Washington Post's Pinocchio circuit the past few weeks. The latest is the White House's doozy about Obama's rate of spending — federal spending — increase being lower than all of his predecessors since Dwight Eisenhower, including all of his Republican predecessors.

                            Three Pinocchios!

I think it is really sad what they are doing to a beloved childhood story character. Pinocchio made some youthful mistakes, but does he really need to be defined by those mistakes? Can't we instead remember the puppet built by an old man who wanted his own 'real boy' so much that he built himself a creepy 'boy doll' that eventually fulfills his dreams by coming alive?
