  • Lightbox

    A good friend of my wife took a stained glass class, and decided to make a girl riding our pony. So, wife ordered up a light box to display it.

    I don't have a biscuit joiner (yet), so I had to dado and spine the front pieces together.

    iPod on the bench. Some Adam Carolla to pass the time.

    Route out a dado for the stained glass frame to sit in.

    Side of box with slot for diffuser glass, and back access panel dado. And two fifty pound bags of horse feed in the background.

    The other piece of the back took some wicked cutting. Miraculously, I made two of these, and didn't mess up any cuts.

    Dry fitted together.

    And, clamped up for the night.

    Front, and back.

    I intend to live forever.
    So far, so good.

    Stained, sealed, and buffed with fine steel wool.

    A less fuzzy picture.

        Good stuff. Did you come up with your own plans, or get the plans from somewhere else? (Just wondering if there's a good website out there or something.)

          See the last picture in the first post - looks like Brian drew it up nicely.

            good eye.
            My wife drew up the outward appearance, then I did the detailed plans.
            It wasn't that hard, actually, a box with notches cut into it. I used a light rope (not shown), that is attached to the rear access panel, as the light source.

              Brian, I notice that your cat does not appear in any of the pics. I hope everything is ok? I assume so because I can see cat food in some pics.

                horse food != cat food
                cat litter != cat food

                Becky and Lexington are both doing very well.
