  • Gym Observation #1

No matter how sophisticated and high tech the exercise machines are, the gym still gets hushed and watchful when some guy rattles off 25 pullups on an old fashioned T-bar.

There are girls at my gym who can do this. When I was in high school, girls couldn't do pullups. Now, it's not uncommon at all to see some 90-lb featherweight jump up and crank off 20 pull ups. It's embarrassing to those of us who don't juice.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

It's something about the bar. I think because you're all exposed. Try doing a couple of sets of inverted sit-ups or leg lifts on the bar sometime. The whole room comes to a pause. It's really awkward.
