  • Why does Fox hate Romney?

Hanity and Stupid Palin review the Iowa results

All the others made strong showings, Romney has problems.

Also, Palin claims it turned out just like she predicted. She's still a dummy.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Pretty straightforward from a few angles:

    1. Uncle Rupert Twitter-endorsed Santorum - the only possible reason is that it helps FOX's bottom line to have a long, long primary that's competitive - they don't want to see this wrapped up

    2. Romney has apparently dissed FOX on a few interview requests - so alleges Chris Wallace

    3. FOX really, really wanted Newt Gingrich - they thought his debates would make good theater w/ Obama - you'll hear hack-ass FOX hosts now harping on how "unfair" those attacks were (Greta and O'Reilly) w/o actually looking at the substance of the ads
    Ute-ī sunt fīmī differtī

It can't all be wedding cake.

      4. No matter what happens to the nation, or the world, for that matter, FOX news will always make money, so why not push for situations that make you more money now.

I'm not a fan of either Palin or Hannity, and I don't doubt that they would prefer someone else win the nomination, but I think that painting the entire organization with their opinion is an overstatement. There are several Foxers who seem to be firmly in the Romney camp. In my news tastes I switch between Fox, CNBC, and NPR, so I don't listen to all the shows all the time, but I've not seen a consistent anti Romney slant when I've been tuned in.

I know you hate O'Reilly, and I agree that he can be a pompous ass and that there is good evidence that he is a serial harasser, but I watch him regularly because I like many of his guests. You and I may disagree, but I believe O is very pro-Mitt, as is Brit Hume (whom I really do like.) I don't watch Greta, so I don't have an opinion on her, but Megyn, the 5 at 5 crew, and Fox and Friends have all been good to Romney as well.

This may not be the thread for this discussion, but I see the "they're just motivated by profit" comment from time to time here. I've observed that 1) it is usually framed in such a way as to assume that profit motives are bad, and 2) it is almost always pointed toward conservative organizations. To the second point, I would submit that the vast majority of organizations, political or non-political, right or left, profit or non-profit, are motivated to make money.

          Holy *******g shit.

I've never seen anything so blatant as http://www.foxnews.com/ right now - it's outright, brazen fundraising for the anti-Romney nexus in the guise of "news."

I don't have a problem with FOX news' motivation for profit. Every news organization from every part of the spectrum has the same purpose and motivation. Nonetheless, it is important to realize that as their motivation, and that their method to reporting news is beholden to it.

Are you saying that other news networks' method to reporting news is not beholden to profit? The only difference between FOX and the others is the slant. FOX goes right, the rest go left.

There are a ton of evangelicals that work for FoxNews. If you watch their news and read their website, it's clear that they cater to that market as well.

What are y'all b*tching about? Clearly Fox hates Paul much more than Romney.

BTW, wasn't both Gingrich and Santorum on the fox new payroll as contributors at one time? Blood is thicker than water when it comes to "family" even if they are not currently on the payroll. Maybe they have something in the works to bring Perry on after the primaries. He could join Huckabee's Sunday night hee haw show to talk about the three agencies of government that should be shutdown which are commerce, education, and what was that 3rd one?

                          Correct. From March 2011:

                          http://nation.foxnews.com/2012-presi...rich-and-rick-

Fox News anchor Bret Baier announced that effective today, Fox News has suspended its contributor arrangements with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, both of whom have signaled possible presidential runs for 2012.

yeah, I don't know how I could have been more specific. The purpose of every corporation, regardless of what they sell/manufacture, is to make money. That is the overriding priority, everything else they do is beholden to it.
