Last night on ESPN, Mark May was bitching about how black coaches never get the good head coaching jobs. Lou Holtz told him that most coaching vacancies occur because the programs are on the decline. Coaches don't typically leave good jobs by choice. It was pretty funny.

Lou Holtz is crazy (and a cheater).

I think we're still a few years away from having substantial numbers of black head coaches in CFB. Coaching is an incestuous business, and only now are the numbers of black assistants growing to the point that there'll be a large pool of black candidates with the right connections to land some of these jobs.

I'll say one thing, if Notre Dame doesn't fire Charlie Weis it would be pretty hard to believe the firing of Willingham back a few years ago wasn't racially motivated.

So, Willingham was never the coach at Notre Dame?

But Rocky is correct. That ND fired him seems to be racially motivated.

I am against racially motivated firing, but I'm also against racially motivated hiring. Race should be a non-factor.

It might have been racially motivated, but it doesn't change the fact that he is a bad Head Coach. He sucked at Washington, too.

The fact that Weis will be back next year does make me think race played at least a part in the firing.

Charlie Weis will be back at Notre Dame next year, as has been reported on espn.

Tyrone Willingham should be fairly pissed off right about now.

Tyrone Willingham should be pissed off at no one but himself right now. He should be pissed off after 0-11 at Washington? He's shown us he's an abysmal coach. Tyrome Willingham is the worst coach in the country as far as I'm concerned. He got more consideration than he desrved at Washington. NOtre Dame should be thankful they dumped him. Someone knew what they were doing.

Moreover, circumstances change. They don't have to reconcile keeping weiss with firing Willingham. What BS.

Washington tried to upstage Notre Dame in being righteous. If you lived here you'd know what I mean. They care more about being righteous than winning. They got their wish. Karma. Meanwhile, Rick Neuheisel got his. He won his lawsuit against Washington and is coaching at UCLA.

As am I.
