    Dave Checketts to buy KALL700

    I don't think that it has been announced yet, but Dave Checketts has purchased (or is about to purchase) KALL700 (Home of the Utes and Real Salt Lake) from the Simmons Media Group.

    I wonder what the impact this will be on talent/programming.

    This would be very, very bad.

    Checketts had a lot to do with Matt Thomas getting canned which was a bad thing because not only was Thomas a terrific Utah play by play guy, his was the best local radio show that SLC has ever had.

      I am not a fan of Spencer Checketts on the air with Bill Riley. I actually think that Riley is the best in this market but Spence brings him down when he is on the air. I guess this will mean more of Spencer on the radio.

        The worst radio personality or announcer by far....and this isn't me being a homer talking....is Frank Dolce....he's just brutal.

        He's always yelling and screaming over the play by play guy Mike Lageschulte...or whatever his name is. It was the same when Thomas or Marcroft were doing things.

        He's the worst I've ever heard.

          Dolce is awful, I agree. Or perhaps unprofessional would be a more apt description.

            That's a much better description.

            I've ever wondered when they go to commercial or off air if the play by play guy turns to him, while removing his headphones and goes "Frank...kindly shut the fuck up", and then just walks off.

              I was trying to listen to the TCU game on the radio and seriously you couldnt tell what was going on over the cheering from Dolce. Dude was screaming.

                  Hopefully it means less Spencer Cheackettes. I really think he is horrible on the radio. I don't see many changes though. It has to be nice to be the Utah station in Ute'ville SLC.

                  I think it will mean a lot more RSL coverage and I'm not upset about that at all.

                    So, Dave Checketts buys the station. First item of business? Fire his kid. Dream on buddy. You will now get MORE Spencer Checketts.
