  • Difference between Crowton and Bronco

If Crowton had Heaps, he'd start him, throw the ball 50 times a game, and when his offense registers in the bottom 1/3 in the nation, and we're losing most of our games, he throws his hands up in the air and blames it on youth and inexperience.

With Bronco, he refuses to accept crappy play, makes adjustments to strategy and/or personnel and grinds out a winning season.

    I prefer Bronco.

The same Bronco that refuses to accept crappy play starts Travis Uale, still gives significant minutes and involvement to McKay Jacobson, and manages to start almost every season with a loss or two going into conference play.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I didn't say I prefer him over Jim Harbough, just over Gary Crowton.

In Heaps first 4 starts this year he threw 38-38-50-34 passes.

          That's a low bar.

I'm optimistic. I think Doman has drastically improved and look forward to seeing if that improvement can carry over against the tougher opponents on next years schedule. Bronco is a heck of a defensive coordinator and if Doman continues to improve things could get much, much better.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I think Bronco is a very good D1 coach, not as good as I thought he was 4 years ago but still definitely in the top 20%. Unfortunately his two principal competitors, at least by my definition, are Gary Patterson and Kyle Whittingham. He is like the loveable Fisher DeBerry to Lavell. You know he is very good at what he does and is just about pegging the program's potential but it is just frustrating that others can be just a step better.

I am an optimist as well and tend to accept your view that in the future we will look back at the lowpoints of this year as the growing pains of a brand new OC.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.
