You're shooting for a 100 lb. weight loss, correct?

Did you decide on a program?

I am. I give myself about a year if it works out right.

I haven't decided on a plan just yet. I am going to work on not putting any weight on during the month of december and probably do a modified version of South Beach/Body for Life starting in January.

I did walk last night with my youngest...so we will see.

        Good Luck.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

100 pounds in a year sounds like a very reasonable goal to me. That's 2 pounds a week, give or take, which is within healthy guidelines.

I think the South Beach diet, in principle, is pretty decent. I didn't use it, but the principles behind it make sense to me.

I echo the wishes of luck.

You are going to shed fast at first if you really are over 300... 2 lbs. a week seems conservative.

This actually really made me LOL.

Because so many folks make up the fact that they are as fat as I am.

I am just ashamed that it has been almost a year and nothing has happened. I am a failure.

There is never a better time to start than right here, right now. It seems that you are on the right track with getting on the treadmill.

It took me about 18 mths to lose 135 lbs. I lost the first 30 or so fairly rapidly then it went in spurts. I'd plateau for a while then all of a sudden lose 3 or 4 lbs.

All I can say is keep working at it, it can be done.
