May as well get a thread started. BYU had a nice little rivalry going with Hawaii once upon a time. Hawaii gave us two of our most humiliating defeats: the post-Ty Detmer Heisman debacle and a beatdown of our Doman/Staley team after a great year up to that point. Time for some payback. Kill the Rainbows!

On a somewhat related point. Who in their right mind would ever choose to stay at Waikiki for their vacation? I had never been to Oahu, before this year. I though 90% of the island was beautiful, but I was very unimpressed with Honolulu. Other than the dining and shopping I thought it was kind of a dump. It seems to me Waikiki is much like old portion of Vegas, a relic from a bygone era.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostMay as well get a thread started. Both of which made for some awesomely uncomfortable racially motivated comments in the Grace home. My favorite Justin Ena moment (besides watching him graduate) was CSU's Van Pelt meeting him at the goalline and watching Justin fold like a lawn chair as he scored yet another touchdown. Comedy gold.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostI still have nightmares of Justin Ena trying to run with Ashley Lelie."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

I have been to Aloha Stadium twice since 2010. Once for a USC football game and once to go to the swap meet while we are on vacation earlier this year.
It remains a huge dump.
Also, it features what is possibly the most bizarre statue at any stadium I have visited......some old dude's head sitting atop a huge metal loop.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Wasn't Ena who blew up a Ute on a flare pass or bubble screen one time? That is the only memory, I choose to recall. Not a 255, should-be-a-DE-not-a LB in a blue and white bib looking lost in pass coverage and slow on outside run support.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostMy favorite Justin Ena moment (besides watching him graduate) was CSU's Van Pelt meeting him at the goalline and watching Justin fold like a lawn chair as he scored yet another touchdown. I always like the trash that blows through the stadium. Having lived in Hawaii for a time I can tell you it always seemed very much like a foreign country as it relates to trash disposal.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI have been to Aloha Stadium twice since 2010. Weren't they trying to remodel the place back in 2007/2008 to try getting a Super Bowl bid (Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI have been to Aloha Stadium twice since 2010. Once for a USC football game and once to go to the swap meet while we are on vacation earlier this year.

)? I'm curious how much longer the Pro Bowl will last at the stadium, considering many people have said the place is becoming a dump.
I think Hawaii needs to get rid of Greg McMackin and bring in someone who can bring the program back up to the caliber of June Jones did. Attendance has really fallen off as well lately there. I really like what Hawaii had going, plus they have a great scheduling advantage.

Apathy is a lifestyle in the Islands. It's part of what makes Hawaii great but is not condusive to football loyalty.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostWeren't they trying to remodel the place back in 2007/2008 to try getting a Super Bowl bid (

Hawaii has lead the WAC in attendance 5 years in a row averaging close to 37,000. Their peak under June Jones was 41,000 so not that big of a drop off.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostWeren't they trying to remodel the place back in 2007/2008 to try getting a Super Bowl bid (
