  • BYU-OU Tickets Update

Feel free to call me a sucker, but I requested tickets through BYU. A few minutes ago I received this e-mail:

Thank you for requesting tickets to the BYU vs. Oklahoma football game in Dallas. We promised you a confirmation on your ticket request by May 8th; however, demand for these tickets have exceeded our initial supply and we cannot confirm your request at this time.
We are now in the process of negotiating additional tickets from the Dallas Cowboys Ticket Office that will hopefully allow us to fill all requests taken through our office. We have been told we can expect to hear back on our request no sooner than May 18th. We will contact you as soon as we can give you more details on your ticket request. As a reminder, tickets will be assigned by Cougar Club priority.
Thank you for your support of BYU Athletics.
***This email is neither a confirmation nor a cancelation of your request.***
I was surprised. I thought that BYU would have plenty of tickets. Does this mean that BYU will have a huge presense, or that the original assumption was that only 250 BYU fans would show up?

It means that BYU originally committed to X amount of tickets, thinking that the price would turn off lots of people. They will go back to the Cowboys and ask for more, which the Cowboys will happily do, as it is in everyone's best interest to sell as many tickets beforehand as possible.

Also, it probably means that OU fans are buying tickets through BYU channels.

I expect this game to be a sea of Sooner fans, minus Babes.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

No Babes. Maybe I won't go now.
