World Tour. You can make your own songs!

You can't really go wrong either way. If it's available though, get the insurance. I bought the insurance on Rock Band and have had to take it back 5 times (policy was unlimited returns first year and one return thereafter). Bass pedal just broke again (most common malfunction) so we'll be using our last return. My son is hard on the game, but I think it's pretty poorly built as well.

I haven't actually played world tour yet, it's waiting to be opened at Christmas.

I thought of you at GameStop the other day.

I was returning some old games and I saw that you can now purchase "Rock Band" brand drum mutes.

We had to replace the guitar and the mike within two months of buying Rock Band. Still under warranty though. Now the pedal on the drums is shot. We repaired it with a ruler and duct tape.

Took a look tonight and it's tough to find any insurance on these games now. I'm guessing it was surprisingly expensive for them the first time around.

I'm partial to Rock Band because of song selection. I think it has the better line-up. I don't know what the PS3 support is like in terms of downloadable songs, but I have a couple hundred for Rock Band/Rock Band 2 on the 360.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I settled on Rock Band 2. I do like the set up of the GH WT drum set better, as it comes with cymbals (but only 3 drum heads). There is an aftermakret cymbal set for RB2, however, but I doubt I'll get it. I liked the RB2 playlist and liked the flexibility it has with all the songs that can be added.

I bought it at Best buy. Everybody is selling it at about the same price but I found it for $20 less on the Wal-mart website. After driving to Wal-Mart the on the shelf price was $20 more. I pointed this out to a Wal Mart sales associate who, after wiping the drool from the cornber of his mouth, said "really?" I showed him the web site on my blackberry and, after cleaning off the rest of his breakfast from his moustache, he said "what do you know?" He refused to even get a manger to discuss this issue and I was so tickd about his attitude that I left and went to Best Buy.

I did buy the extended warranty, which was 30 clams. Now I almost hope somethign breaks. Kind of.
                  PLesa excuse the tpyos.

It will pay for itself many times over.

i like the GHWT drums and guitar better...as an actual-life-drummer I can't stand the RB drumset. At least the GH is a little closer.
And I don't know about everyone else but I've always thought the guitar parts are better on GH at the hard and expert levels.
I do think RB has the better playlist though. Still, I'd go with GH.

Great, 300 bucks later you tell me . . .

Just kidding. Quite honestly as one who dabbles in guitar I can't stand the guitars on either set. I m just hoping that it will be something we can do as a family so my wife will come to love the PS3 as much as the rest of us (not that I really expect that, but one can hope).

yeah I realized after posting it was a little late. Sorry 'bout that.

For me, the assumption people make is since I'm a drummer I'll want to play the drum parts. And I can pretty much pass anything sight unseen on Hard....but it's annoying as all get out. I'd rather just play the guitar parts.

Speaking of drums, our oldest boy is getting a set for Christmas. Fun times at our house are sure to follow.
