  • How do you get rid of your mineral spirits?

I refinished some furniture today but didn't know what to do with the paint thinner after I was done cleaning the brush. I called my brother who knows this kind of stuff and he gave me two options: the proper way and the quick-n-dirty way. I should store the stuff in a glass jar until I can run it over to my local municipal collection spot, or, I can pour it in a corner of my yard on some weeds I want to kill. Nothing will grow there for 6 months but after then it breaks down.

How do you dispose of your turpentine/paint thinner?

I use disposable brushes so I don't need turpentine.

I didn't see the option for throwing it in the yard or on weeds. This is what I do.
