Good US Showing in Boston

Kara Goucher and Ryan Hall ran really well this morning in Boston for a third place finish for each of them.

Its nice to see some Americans making some noise again on the international distance scene.

I thought it was interesting how slow the women started. 6:28 first mile. I might have been able to hang them for a mile today, two at best. Then straight to the oxygen tent.

2 hour marathon times trip me out. I just can't get it. I think of running that fast for 26 miles and I puke.

I'm a little bummed for Kara...9 seconds back. That is tough. But she's only going to get better. As much as Nike takes a beating amongst runners, they deserve a huge amount of credit for bringing her along. Alberto Salazar has done a great job coaching her. Nike has made a huge investment in American long distance running, and it's starting to pay off.

It was fun following the Marathon today. I actually know a couple of guys who were in it this year.
