  • Holy $^&*# no wonder I'm fat

So we went to Chili's for dinner tonight. I was good and just had water to drink and an entree off the guiltless grill section of the menu. But when I got home I pulled up Chili's stuff on the Daily Plate to get the calories and while I was there looked at the stuff I would "normally" get at Chili's. I'm pretty confident that before starting this, I would normally walk out of Chili's having put down 4000+ calories in a meal.

I had a similar reaction the first time I found out how many calories I could eat in a meal at a restaurant. Simply amazing.
    Not that, sickos.

Another shocker....those fruit smoothies from Jamba or wherever.....they are little fat bombs.

Loaded with calories (often over 500 calories), carbs, and sugar. Maybe 6 or 7 grams of protein.

I get a kick out of people on Saturday morning that go to Jamba in their gym gear, as though they are doing themselves a huge favor.

It is way better to just eat a couple of eggs and some fruit that to eat one of those desserts.

I pounded down around 1,200 calories at Applebees this evening. Quesadilla burger, fries and house salad. Road food is murder. 90 nights a year on the road has definitely taken it's toll on me.

that sounds like way more than 1200 calories. esp if you drank a soda, too.

That's the thing with most restaurants: they want people to remember how delicious their dinners tasted, since the nutrition facts are rarely seen, so they load foods with creams, oils and cheeses.

I thought so too, but the Daily Plate says otherwise

              I drank a Diet Pepsi.

I'm not going to argue with a cowboy AND the daily plate.

                stacked odds.
