  • BYUs pro day

I was just looking up numbers from BYUs pro day.

Vic So'oto killed it. Ran a 4.58 did 33 bench reps. Great 3 cone drill. He really helped himself.

Brandon Bradley might have killed his chances measuring 5'11.5 and running a 4.68.

Brian Logan measured in at 5'5.4 but ran a low 40 of 4.48 and an average of 4.50.

Andrew Rich ran a 4.6 measured at a hair under 6'3 and weighed in at 220 pounds.

You can see all the numbers at NFLDraftscout.com.

If I'm an NFL scout, Vic absolutely has me interested. I would be salivating at the thought of using him as an OLB in a 3-4 scheme or trying to put him as a pass rushing DE in a 4-3. The fact that he spent two years at TE as well probably helps in the athleticism since he had decent enough hands and the biggest reason he was moved was he wasn't going to play much behind Pitta and George. The only downside(s) to Vic I believe will be his age and his durability, since he was at BYU F-O-R-E-V-E-R in part to position changes and injuries.

Andrew Rich also should get a shot. He's not going to be a full-time safety I don't think, but with his size he could potentially play an OLB in a Tampa-2 scheme (think Derrick Brooks) with a little more bulk. Worst case scenario, you look at a guy like Aaron Francisco who has stuck in the league and Rich could find his niche on a team as a 4th safety who can play either spot, but as a special teams player. Again, the biggest knock with Rich will probably be age and his durability.

Logan would make it but there just isn't room in the NFL for a corner who is 5'5" and doesn't return kicks. I hope they keep a spot open for him as a GA because I think he would be great at BYU as a coach and serving in the South Park role. I want to be clear that I don't mean that as a knock on Brian (more a knock on BYU), I think he is one of the most technically sound corners we have had at BYU in a very long time, and think that he could be a pretty good teacher.
