  • Small Southern Colleges really pump up the fans

Why don't BYU cheerleaders do more of this stuff? I think it would fire up the crowd and improve...er......uh....morale.

Im not even sure what school "ASU" is in this video, nor do I care, but there is a series of these ASU dancer videos on youtube and I think I will watch all of them

Not sure what the guy in the background is doing in this one.

In fact, there are a bunch of these small southern school halftime show vids on youtube. I feel duty bound to absorb all of them and weigh the pros and cons.

HBCUs have the best bands around.

I was going to say, if it's small, in the south, and really pumps up the crowd, it's likely an HBCU.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Those girls are definitely an asset to the atmosphere of the games.

Has anyone ever been to these games in the South? I need to get down there and check one out.

Personally, I would rather watch this at halftime than listen to Vocal Point.

The band and dancers are the show at these southern black colleges. Nobody goes to these games for the football. It's all about the drumline, band and dancers...in that order.

I would rather watcher this than Vocal Point as well.

Based on what I am hearing in my small sampling today, the bands are very mediocre. In fact, sometimes they sound pretty bad.

The dancing doesnt make me mad, however.

These are the schools that have stepping crews, too, no?

BYU needs to send the cheerleaders and cougarettes to some of these HBCU dance/cheer workshops.

The Collierville, Tennessee annual Christmas Parade had a steady stream of these types of cheer teams and bands from high schools in the area. One right after the other. Nothing better to bring on the Christmas spirit.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

ASU here is probably Alcorn State University, most definitely a HBCU in Jackson, Miss.
