    Donating

    Does this forum need donations to fund the server space or bandwidth? I like it so much that I'm prepared to send a token donation (I can't afford much).

              Donations are needed and appreciated. I don't anticipate too many expenses until next fall when our annual fees become due for the server. We will occasionally have upgrade fees for vbulletin. So it doesn't hurt to accumulate as we go.

              The paypal link allows for credit card payments.

                JeffLebowski, would it be too gauche to ask you to simply post the annual fees when they come due? I would be more than happy to chip in when it comes time to pay the piper and I am sure others would, as well.

                I just don't want to over-donate and inadvertently fund more posh toilet seats and Zojirushi rice cookers for your home.

                  That's fine. I am guessing that we will have enough in the tiller by then due to the generosity of our members. But if we end up short, I will be sure to let you know.

                    Just buy some cheapies. You get 90% of the binocular benefit for 1/10th the price. Unless you are a serious birder, cheapies are where it is at (don't pay more than about $120).

                      I have some cheapies. Every time I use them I end up cross-eyed. Kind of like the folks who used Steve Martin's inventions in The Jerk.
