  • Ute fans did what I have not been able

to do......convert my daughter from supporting the Utes to supporting the Cougars. She was appalled at the language and behavior of the Utah students.

Thank you Utah students for helping me convert her and shame on those LDS Utah students who didn't have the courage to shut the unruly Utes down. I guess winning is more important than defending your faith.

This just in: the NO on 8 protestors who have singled out the LDS faith with vandalism, violence and bigotry are an accurate reflection of the gay community and its supporters as a whole. Shame on the non-violent and non-haughty collective for not scurrying out to break up the rallies.

The fact that other Utah students didn't tell those who were yelling or dressing like Jesus to knock it off, demonstrated to her that sports is more important than their religion.

Rational or not, it cost the Utes a fan. BTW, her friend that attends the U as well said she would never attend another Utah/BYU game at Utah. That is pretty pathetic. I guess that is why I-80 is packed on BYU game day.

I-80? I guess everyone would rather go to Wendover than watch BYU play?

And people wonder why Happy Valley is called "The Bubble" ?

Life is a fairly regular stream of people doing stupid things. It's the responsibility of adults to not let it bother them. Or move to LaVerkin.
I don't like it either, but the most effective defense is to ignore it.

Sorry that happened...but it happens at 99% of every college stadium. You have idiot fans and a large majority of idiot students. People swear, people do stupid things, etc. I mean this in all sincerity as well, it sounds like your daughter would have a much better experience at BYU than at Utah. And good for her...Utah is not for all kids and BYU is not for all kids.

If I-80 is packed for BYU games, holy crap, then how crowded is I-15?

If your daughter is so fickle, you may want to advise her to stay away from the CougarTown BYU tailgates. Those are so awful they make me want to support the Utes.

Another thing that just popped into my head that would make me convert from Blue to Red....

Those horrible Cosmo videos during the 3rd quarter.

I still don't get what the hell is going on with those. I guess someone kidnaps Cosmo and then some stuff blows up, there are usually a few people driving cars really fast, and then the video ends.

                      yikes.

Those are horrible, I don't get it and I am pretty sure I am better off that way.

One more is the BYU newspaper commercials they play, I think in the second qtr. I mean who are you asking that doesn't know who Max Hall is or what happened on 4th and 18.

Did you see the first one they played this year? (I think that was the one). There was a part where a male BYU fan was begging to spend some time with Cosmo. It came across as extremely gay. I wonder if the producers did that on purpose as kind of a joke?

I didnt go to the season opener. Wasn't it NIU?

These have been going on for a couple of seasons and it seems that Cosmo is always getting kidnapped. Maybe they all just bleed into each other and I need to pay more attention.

When I see the Cosmo videos, it makes me miss the Rob Morris clip telling everyone how nice everyone was when he went to Notre Dame.

Which reminds me,...one other really cool thing at the Utah game.....I liked that beating heart noise played over the loudspeakers right before the team ran onto the field. That was a nice touch. very cool.
