  • Update on BYUTV-HD distribution

I'd be shocked to see it on Directv anytime soon.

So they are taking the Craig Thompson approach to get it on Direct TV.

To push the process, write or call Dish, DirecTV, or whatever provider you have to get BYUtv HD. It won't hurt.
I thought BYU of all people would have learned from others mistakes.

The new spin is that since BYU isn't asking Directv for any money, Directv will be more amenable to allocating limited HD bandwidth to a channel that no one watches 98% of the time - including Mormons.

Not the same at all. BYUTV is everywhere already. Just not in HD. So anyone with cable/satellite, no matter who the provider, will get to see BYU play. Besides we'll have 4 games via ESPN/ABC in HD.

Well for all my cougar friends, I hope that it gets added. I would hate for you you guys to miss the match vs. Idaho St. late next season. There could be bowl game implications on the line.

Don't worry. I will be there in person. Much better than HD.

No one will miss it. They just might not be able to see it in all its HD glory.

Can't they do something similar to what Dish does with Jazz games? Have an alternate channel that is only operational when an actual game is on... That could help.
