OSU didn't want to be there anyways so instead of showing up and going through the motions like Alabama this is how they are going to get out of it.

These teams aren't USC so they should be good. Pryor gets suspended for a day and then the NCAA will clear them all.

That's only if you are undefeated and a non BCS team would get into the championship game if you lose your star player.

So the NCAA is suspending Prior and 4 other players for the first 5 games of 2011 for accepting improper benefits. But they're allowed to play in the Sugar Bowl.

            The NCAA is a joke.

                      I guess I shouldn't be.

Here's the NCAA's explanation as to why they're bowl eligible:

The players are eligibile for the bowl game because the NCAA determined they did not receive adequate rules education during the time period the violations occurred.
What? Inadequate rules education? What college athlete doesn't understand those rules? I really wish the NCAA would just nut up and say our vested interest in the Sugar Bowl is too great for us to suspend key players who would otherwise not be participating in it.

The NCAA sure is lucky that none of the players were seniors. Then they would have had to punish all of them this year.

And how come the school doesn't get sanctioned for not educating their players properly.

I just talked to someone who played BCS level football and he told he he sold gear, jerseys, etc from time to time for extra cash.

I can't believe the NCAA is making them payback money they received from the sell of these items to charity. Think how much money TP has made OSU and the NCAA during his recruitment and career and dude can't receive 2500 off of stuff he owns?

                          That's the issue, IMO.

it's not true that some were freshmen last year. They're all juniors this year, so last year they were sophs at least.

Ohio State will repeal the ruling, officials said Thursday.
OSU has a lot of power apparently.
