          Didn't Parrot Head win last year, too?

          Lesson learned by me this year. If you pick BYU to win every game, and they go 7-6, you probably won't win the pick'em contest.

            Woo-hoo, I suck!

            Had I not missed a game I'd have made up those 230 pts for sure! You are all lucky I was off feeding the poor in Calcutta that week. Bless you all.

                      I wonder how high I would have finished if I hadn't entered one of my prediction wrong and got a no show. Probably not a lot higher. I really blew the Utep score. I think I had the Y winning by only 12.


                      Edit: Wait it was the utah prediction contest I was doing really well in and messed up on putting a score in in the right format.

                      The BYU prediction contest I was out of early. I kept predicting them to win. The Washington game clouded my thinking for a while.

                        I guessed the SDSU game exactly. I think that's the only thing that kept me in it after a rocky start. Utestar was above me as well toward the end of the season but I think he missed the last couple of picks.

                              First, the congratulatory boardmails have been overwhelming and humbling. For those of you who asked (and there have been several), yes, I am releasing the rights to both pelagius and CUF ownership to name this the "CUF Parrot Head Championship honoring Greatness in BYU Sports Predictions." Also, I never been mistaken visually for Jimmy the Greek, though I have been for Matt Damon on multiple occasions, and, once after a late night, one too many Jolts and a dare, Olivia Newton-John.

                              I have a greater sense of accomplishment in this year's Championship because the team was tougher to predict than last year's. They gave me some scares, provided some heartbreak, but lots of joy as I had confidence in Heaps after Goat's glowing reviews of his arm. I would also like to thank UteStar, the Hoff and Richard Simmons; Susan Boyle; Doman and Cody Hoffman; and beef (it's what's for dinner).

                              I haven't yet decided whether I will return for next year's competition and watch the magic continue to happen or if I will turn my attention to the Utah "contest," but I will try not to turn this into a Bret Favre situation (except for the text messages).

                              As the Great one once said, "Boom, bitches."
