What kind of money does Texas pay BYU to come to Austin and when Texas comes up to Provo is it the same amount. How about Idaho State, how much do they get?

Not sure about the Austin game but Ole Miss is 900k. I am guessing Idaho St. gets about 500k. Burntorangenation the Texas message board is reporting BYU was getting 800k to go to Austin for the first game. But when they negotiated the 2 for 1 the terms changed and have not been redisclosed.

Generally, aren't home-and-home agreements non-compensated? The compensation is the return game. If that's the case, I wouldn't expect that Texas is paying anything for the second trip to Austin.

We had one game scheduled against Texas in 2011, that we were being paid for. Then BYU signed a separate deal for a home and home. Some of saying part of the stips for the home and home meant a reduction of pay to BYU for the 2011 game. You are correct however home and homes are non-compensated.

I'm more familar with Texas scheduling (and the Big 12) than with BYU. My understanding is that if it's a home-and-home schedule, then there's no payout to visiting teams. Each team keeps the proceeds for their home game. I think the same rules apply to 2-for-1 schedules. For one-and-done schedules the payout to the visiting team is usually in the range from 400K to 1 million (and possibly more). I remember as Colorado is getting something like 1.2 or 1.3 million to visit Ohio St.

The price is going up because more programs are trying to schedule one-and-done deals so that they can maintain a 7-home game schedule. Programs like Nebraska and Texas can sell out regardless of the opponent and each home game is worth several million in proceeds.
