    Someone had to do it.

Your top sig quote presents an interesting contrast to your views on religion.

If Einstein is right (and he is) that all of our science is "primitive and childlike" when measured against the reality, then it's also implied that we're ignorant (or at least have huge gaps in our knowledge) when it comes to most of the biggest questions, including the ultimate origins and purpose of things.

Given this enormous gap between the known laws of natural science that we do understand and the uncomprehended realities that are beyond our grasp - who would claim with any certainty (other than obvious jackasses like Dawkins) that there isn't a God or a Divine Being, hidden from view to most Utes, exactly in those unknown spaces?

So I guess in summary - I think it's interesting that you acknowledge (maybe even kind of celebrate?) the primitive nature of science, while also making some big assumptions about whether or not God might fit in the bigger picture, in the spaces you can't see.

Also - go Cougs, destroy UTEP. Kariya for 200 yards!

I'm just glad Jake gets the extra practices.

Anyone know how many of this year's 15 allowed practices Bronco is actually using?

Pete Fiutak at foxsports.com gives us the skinny on every bowl this season. Here is his complete breakdown of the New Mexico Bowl:

Traditionally a dog of a bowl, the New Mexico Bowl gets a UTEP team that lost five of its last six games, has no offensive consistency, and little defensive line. BYU isn't the BYU of the past, but it managed to rally from an awful start to win four of its last five games to get here.

I'm hoping for a lengthy discussion on who the better "big game" coach is, Coach Bronco or Mike Price.

I'm thinking Coach Bronco, but would like to see the case for Mike Price before deciding.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

THE NEW MEX is going to be a great game. Then in the afternoon BYU is going to beat UCLA in Los Angeles.

All things considered, I'd rather have BYU play in the NEW Mexico Bowl instead of the same old Mexico Bowl.

CJ or somebody needs to break down this game for us pretty soon. We only have 12 more days.

                      Here ya go:

                      UTEP sucks.

                      BYU sucks less.

                        Here is where UTEP ranks:

                        Total Offense: 72 (371 yards/game)
                        Scoring Offense: 76 (26.17 points/game)

                        Total Defense: 86 (404 yards/game)
                        Scoring Defense: 58 (25.42 points/game)

UTEPs wins this year are against:
                        Arkansas Pine Bluff
                        New Mexico State
                        Memphis (1-11)
                        New Mexico
                        Rice (4-8)
                        SMU (7-6)

UTEP losses this year are against:
                        Houston (5-7)
                        UAB (4-8)
                        Tulane (4-8)
                        Marshall (5-7)
                        Arkansas
                        Tulsa (9-3)

They won 5 games at home. They won 1 game on the road (at New Mexico).

Offensively they look to be fairly balanced with about 1,800 yards rushing and 2,600 yards passing. They've got a receiver who has put up decent numbers (900 yards, 11 TDs, 20 yards per catch).

Their run D is ranked 90th in the country giving up 180 yards a game on the ground. Their pass D is ranked 72nd in the country giving up about 223 yards a game. They only caused 14 turnovers all year, but only gave up 18.

Looking just at the numbers, this is a game that BYU should be able to win. I'd look more for highlights, but they had a whopping 4 games all year televised. Ouch.

I wonder if Jordan Palmer is going to be on the sideline supporting the Miners? Are there any good strip clubs in ABQ for Mike Price? B2B bowl wins for BYU and 4 out of 5.

THE NEW MEX fever, catch it!
