Help! We received notice from the HOA that the lattice on one of the walls of our deck need to be repaired. A few of the slats have fallen out. I bought a thing of Liquid Nails but since I don't have clamps I wasn't able to keep the wood in place long enough to dry. Is there a faster-acting wood glue that doesn't require clamps?

It's not about the cost... it just seems inconvenient to have to take down all the barrier things around it that hold it up... not to mention that I have no way of cutting the piece down to size (15" x 48"). It seems easier to just glue or tack (somehow) the four fallen slats back in. Your thoughts?Originally posted by Surfah View PostWhy not just replace the piece of lattice? I assume your lattice is diamond shaped, and since you don't have clamps, why not use some twine, wire, or even a zip ties to keep the slats in place while the glue sets up?Originally posted by Tim View PostIt's not about the cost... it just seems inconvenient to have to take down all the barrier things around it that hold it up... not to mention that I have no way of cutting the piece down to size (15" x 48"). If it were me, I'd buy some clamps. They're handy and you can never have too many of them. Surfah's suggestion of the zip ties/twine is probably the easiest solution.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Adjustable clamps like that are really handy. Also, I'd recommend a bunch of small spring clamps like these which would be perfect for this task:Originally posted by creekster View PostSomething like this. Not too much and you can use them for a lot of things over time.

Tim, I was at Lowe's this morning. They have tiny metal vise grips and c-clamps for $1.97 each. They are really useful, and if you had 5-6 of them, it'd be a great thing to have."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action.
