  • Why BYU wins today...

    1) PED advantage. Say no more.
    2) BYU DB's better than anyone's giving them credit for. Rich and Bradley will be playing more and am I the only one who thinks Howard has looked much better the last few weeks? The guy has speed and he's learning a new position--his improvement over the year has been substantial.
    3) Utah cannot pressure Hall like TCU (or even AFA) did. The stats don't lie here, and it's not even close. When Hall has time, he's dangerous.
    4) Hall in close games. I haven't watched a lot of Utah this year, but I can't think of anyone I'd rather have in there than Hall in a close game (which this will be).

    Any more reasons for hope?

    EDIT: One more...
I like Hall (and BYU) in an underdog, legitimate chance to ruin someone's season role. No one's picking us in this one and Hall will take that personally.

At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

BYU needs to keep the backs in to block. On most sack plays, they hit their pass patterns too early. Utah loves to use overload blitzes, so if BYU can keep the backs in to pick that up, they can have some success. I think BYU has the best quarterback, running backs, tight ends, and I think Collie is the best receiver. Having said that, I think Utah has the better overall team and will win comfortably. Utah's defense is just too good. BYU's is horrible.

What kind of "reason to hope" is that?

Start your own thread if you want to be all honest and stuff.

Sorry. My reasons for hope are:
        1. Hall is the best QB
        2. Fui and Harvey are best RBs
        3. Pitta and George are the best TEs
        4. Collie is the best receiver
        5. God is a Mormon

True, one of several keys to the game.
However, Utah's D has an unreal ability to make plays when it counts.

BJ is a maestro and Ludwig is out the loop. I'm comfortable with BJ on an end of game drive. Just score w/ little time on the clock.....

I like KW's ability to motivate. Two unquestionably inferior utah teams took byu to the limit. He will have them ready.

            (specifically, posts 3 and 4)

I will ignore the rest of your post as it is not faith-promoting.

But, but, PED is, is, is, I mean, it predicts outcomes! The thing you don't understand is that it means BYU is going to win and the fact that BYU lost last year just proves it because, because, I mean, did you not know that BYU has a better a PED?

ER is a good guy, in fact, I like this chippy rivalry version of ER we have seen lately.

Just because you rolled a one doesn't mean there weren't 5 other numbers on the die that weren't a one.

Last year's Utah team demolishing last year's BYU team was a one in six proposition huh? Okay.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was saying.

P.S. I predicted a 38-27 Utah win on Cougarboard last year.

ER was convinced 2008 Utah was lucky and bad before Utah mercilessly hammered his team by 24 points, and he still thinks that. Says it all.
