  • More Details About why BYU Decided to go Indy

    http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/cougars...t-mtn.html.csp

David Checketts, who helped negotiate the TV Deal said that Comcast and CBS (who own the Mtn.) didn't keep their promises and couldn't have messed it up any worse if they tried. I think you can also add the MWC to that list.

Apparantly a lot of stuff was promised to BYU, but not put in writing. I think BYU was naive and trusting. It's funny, all these other people talk about how under-handed BYU was and the truth is the opposite. BYU was the only participant that acted with honor through all this. On second thought, I'd add Utah State to that list.

The MWC is going to pot, especially if TCU leaves. I expect Boise State to try the Indy route before too long. I think it'd be better for them.

LOL. You people sure do love your revisionist history.

I think Utah State acted pretty honorably through all of this - to their detriment even. What has BYU done to show their appreciation in all this?

I think the MWC and CBSSports both absolutely ruined the deal. Instead of really building a network to compete with ESPN and be a legit player in the industry, they botched it and if memory is remembering right televised Conference USA games instead? Say what? I am not just talking BYU either. The whole conference has been hurt by the lack of exposure and distribution of the Mtn.

Exactly what I said. Nothing. Your northern brethren stuck their necks out for you to their own detriment and you do nothing to show appreciation.

This is why I cringed over jumbotrongate. Utah State did get screwed.

And we were nice enough to bring you along for the ride. And this is how you thank us?

Enjoy scenic and historic Laramie for us. Who knows when we'll get to do the same. Ever. Again.

We were fine before. We'll be fine after. No offense, but ya'll opinions of yourself is a bit (a lot) inflated. I'm glad you think you've found something better. I hope it comes out the way you hope.

                        I doubt that.

                          Enlighten us then.

Edit: On the other hand, BYU has no one to blame but themselves. These *wink wink* arrangments are beyond naive.

The inflated egos are just a coping mechanism.
