Sad to hear that. He seemed like a star in the making.

Just read this...makes me sick to my stomach. He had so much promise...this is incredibly sad.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

How many documented concussions has he had? I remember being scared of him as a BYU fan in years past, but have no idea what type of season he has been having this year. Sad news for any young man. Hopefully, he won't have any lasting post-concussion effects.

Had he suffered multiple concussions? Was this one particularly bad?

I give credit to the U for doing the right thing and putting the kid's safety first. I wonder how far some coaches would have pushed the injury envelope for the sake of getting some points on the board.

Hopefully the U honors his athletic scholarship until he graduates. I am sure they will.

I think he had a pretty severe one either in the preseason or in the opener vs. Pitt.

            Title fixed.

Sad news. He was a monster in HS.

I hope they caught him before any permanent damage was done. I am glad they are following concussions now. But it is sad for him. He seemed like a good kid.
                PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Honestly, I thought of him right away. Maybe this makes Langi's decision to go to Utah much easier or at least logical? Maybe it will have no bearing but I thought of him.

I would also think that Lucky Radley who was considering a move to safety might be staying put at RB.

So who is the man next year now? Vakapuna?

It's too bad that he won't be able to play, but it's the right decision. Shak's a good kid and a smart kid too, so I'm sure he didn't try to convince anyone to let him keep playing.

IMO there's no way. He's a 3rd down/blocking back IMO. I'll let Utes answer that for sure though but he just seems to me to be that thick-necked bruiser and not the speedster/slasher they need.

Vakapuna will be the guy who pounds the inside. No idea about who the speed guy will be. The Utes have a few guys who fit that mold, but they're awfully young and haven't seen the field this season at all.

Wow, that is terrible. He would have been the feature guy next year. Hopefully he heals up and suffers no long terms effects. Damn.
