  • BYU vs Rice recap.......

JT is a chucker we all know that but when he is on he is a serious weapon. So far this year he has been on.

Lee Cummard can do it all, great rebounder, great passer, great jump shooter, good post game, he looked solid tonight making the most of his limited minutes and touches 5-7 from the floor for 13 points.

Chris Miles played awful, looked terrible in the post, and really didnt even rebound that well.

Lamont Morgan Jr had 4 straight turnovers on 4 straight possessions late in the game, not good.

Jimmer played well very efficient night 13 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals.

Defensively we have held our first 4 opponents below 40% shooting which is exceptional.

Also BYU has played 4 games since last Saturday and play another one tomorrow, so 5 games in a week and they have yet to trail in a game. Not the best competition but impressive none the less.

Jackson Emery can do it all and he will be a huge addition this year. So far on the season he is averaging: 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists while shooting 56% from the floor.

The guy can't pivot in the post without traveling. What a knucklehead.

I think this team should be better than last year's. I was especially impressed with Abouo. He could end up being a very solid contributor as a freshman. I sure wish Tavernari would stop jacking up every shot. Even though he was "on" tonight he still missed 2 more shots than Cummard took, while making only two more than Cummard did. He's become somewhat of a black hole in this otherwise very unselfish offense.

When JT shoots the 3 in rhythm, he's deadly.

When he is off-balance and falling to the side he's terrible and Rose shouldn't tolerate those shots.

I work with some guys who went to Rice and are big sports fans.

I considered sending them some gloating emails this morning along with links to the game recap, but I decided against it. Rice is so pathetic that it just seems wrong to rub it in.

It will be interesting to see if Ben Braun can turn things around at Rice. If somehow Rice could get a few of the best Houston high school players to sign with them it wouldn't take long to turn things around.

Yep we were, I forgot about LBSU and for some reason I was thinking Pepperdine was the first game. Also we trailed against Cal Poly last night 19-16 before blowing it open and then giving it back, and then blowing it open and then givign it back. JT was 0-11 from the floor. Good thing Lee had 28 and Miles had 24.
