  • Cam Newton recruitment under investigation

So much for the heisman, i guess. I mean if you were going to strip Bush(), you can't just give it to Newton now?

It will be interesting to see what comes out of this. I know Mississippi St. was really burned when Cam decided to go to Auburn and not play for the Bulldogs.

Miss St's two losses are vs Auburn and @ LSU. It's not unreasonable to believe they could be a one-loss team or even undefeated if Newton had gone there.

Assuming the NCAA's investigation won't be completed and/or released before the final BCS rankings are completed, will Newton's alleged indiscretions (receiving money; academic cheating at UF) cost Auburn a shot at the BCS title and Cam a Heisman trophy? Should it?

I doubt it. I don't think it will affect the Harris Poll or computers much. And frankly I doubt the coaches do either. They still control their own destiny. Auburn still has to win out. And that ain't happening.
