  • Louie Sakoda a product of the media hype machine?

In conference play Louie Sakoda is only 4th in the conference in punting at 40.4 yards per kick. BYUs CJ Santiago is 2nd at 41.6 yards per kick.

In regards to field goals, "King" Louie is only 6 for 8, while BYUs Mitch Payne is 6 for 6 in conference play.

Louies FG% ranks 4th in the conference if he had enough kicks to qualify.

Against TCU he only averaged 36 yards per kick.

I agree with you to a point CJ...

He has "clutch" though and we don't.

When he needs to be he is nails. Other times he is marginal.

He always seems to be on at the exact time his team needs him.

      Interesting, good research.

:01 left on the clock, down by one point, 45 yard FG to win it, who would you want kicking for your team -- Sakoda or Payne?

That TCU was one of the worst games that I can remember him having...that was brutal.

The final stats do not always indicate the tone of the game. A blowout through three quarters can become a "respectable" box score after the scrubs scrimmage with one another.

To that end, all things considered, Louie was assigned to a number of short punts while inside the opponent's territory, to pin them inside the 10. Mission accomplished.

He drops dead balls inside the 5 all the time. 9 returns for 28 yards.
TCU was an anomaly. No punts vs. SDSU. He is huge wrt to field position. He is as advertised in my book.
            I intend to live forever.
            So far, so good.
