I just wanna brag for a minute.
We had a state-run agency come in to evaluate our timeliness of ordering labs, vaccines, tests, etc for our patient panel. After they got our numbers, they awarded us "Perfect Practice". This is possible due to our electronic medical record and how much effort we put into be proactive instead of reactive.
We are nowhere near perfect, but our numbers are significantly better than the state and national average.
For instance, the state average for colonoscopy screening is about 15%. Our clinic is over 65%. This would be higher if not for new interns learning the system. More senior providers are over 80%.
The agency had originally scheduled a debriefing to talk with us about what we could do better, but it actually was us debriefing them about what we did to get our numbers so high.
I'm just so excited. The other day I posted about how excited I was that one of my patients with significant medical problems had all of his health maintenance tests up to date. This is now becoming the norm.
K, done bragging. Im gonna miss this clinic when I graduate. I have put so much time and energy into getting our numbers up.
If I had family in the area, I'd recommend they only go to my program's clinic. I think it shows, as I, as a lowly second year resident, don't have an open clinic appt until December.
